Frequently Asked Questions
If a quote is what you need you are welcome to contact me via the phone number and/or email listed there. You are asked to provide the location where you wish to have the service performed and I can give you a travel fee (if applicable).
Under the Code of Virginia, a DC-411 form is to be completed and notarized for ALL Service of Process done for a case originating in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It states what case and case number, what court, the address of the person served, what date and time service was performed and in what method it was performed (ie. Personal delivery, posted service, or subject not found).
Payments can be made at time of checkout in cases of Process Service and Wedding Services. At this time and due to the travel fee when applicable, Notary Services are unable to be paid for at the checkout page. For Notary Services, please contact me via email or phone so that I may give you a quote on the price. Once a quote has been given and when you accept the service, I can accept cash, check, credit card (in person), PayPal and Venmo.
Honestly, you have to decide that for yourself based upon the information I have provided on this site. However, once you have met me in person or spoken to me over the phone, you will be better equipped to make that decision. Personally, I would absolutely tell you “Yes, I am…” but I can’t make that decision for you, only you have that power.
You absolutely will be kept up to date. At every service attempt I will take time-stamped and GPS photos and regardless if the service is attempted or successful at that time, you will receive the photos and any applicable information regarding the acceptance of documents. Once service has been performed, not only will be receive an email from me with the completed invoice, but you will also receive an emailed copy of the notarized affidavit of service, a copy of the DC-411 (if applicable), the attempt sheet with the signature of the accepting party along with their physical description and name, as well as all pictures for each attempt. You will also receive a mailed copy, postage paid by the United States Postal Service, of the original copies with “wet” signatures.
You are more than welcome to contact me by phone or email. I am extremely receptive to either of those methods and during regular hours (9a-7p) I try to respond within 1 hour. If you send me a message after hours, I will try to reply as soon as possible or by no later than 10am the following morning.
Legal custody (of a minor or incapacitated adult) is determined by the Court of Record. Should custody be granted either full-time, or residential full-custody, the Court will list that determination in the Custody Decree. When parents come to me to have a travel custody document notarized in order to ensure legality when traveling across state lines, I am notarizing only that both parents are aware of and agree to the temporary arrangement and resulting custody during such travel. The document does not negate any custody agreements put in place by the Court of Record and only signifies that the opposite party is aware of and agrees to travel custody during such established dates and that physical custody will return to the normal custodial parent upon return from travel or when the dates on the document expire.
